In 1996 the resort was purchased by a development company from Toronto and went into receivership in 2013. Under new ownership, the resort reopened in 2014. The resort has suite units, rooms and individual cottages. In 2015 the Delawana Inn changed its name to Delawana Resort (dropping the word 'inn' while still keeping the historical 'Delawana').

Gibson Lake is a lake in Georgian Bay Township, District Municipality of Muskoka, Ontario, Canada. It is located 45 minutes north of the city of Barrie, and is accessed by Hwy 400 interchange # 174, just north of Six Mile Lake. Gibson Lake borders on the Wahta Mohawk Territory.
The river is the third largest river draining the southern Ontario land mass by average annual flow. It flows southeast, then turns northeast for the remainder of its course. It passes under Ontario Highway 21 at the community of Springmount, and passes over the Niagara Escarpment at Jones Falls.
