NH Route 104 runs past the north shore of the lake. A private area called "Smoke Rise" lies on the western side of the lake. Smoke Rise Road and a smaller secondary road, Easy Street, are located in this area. The Pemigewasset River / ˌ p ɛ m ɪ dʒ ə ˈ w ɑː s ɪ t /, known locally as "The Pemi", is a river in the state of New Hampshire, the United States. It is 65.0 miles (104.6 km) in length and (with its tributaries) drains approximately 1,021 square miles (2,644 km 2 ). [ 1 ]
The park is home to the New Hampshire Snowmobile Museum, Old Allenstown Meeting House, and the Richard Diehl Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) Museum, which are in historic buildings built by the Civilian Conservation Corps. [6] In 1985 and 2000, the remains of a total of four female bodies, one adult and three children, were found in the park.
The Franklin Falls Dam is located on the Pemigewasset River in the city of Franklin, New Hampshire, in the United States. The dam was constructed between 1939 and 1943 by the Army Corps of Engineers [ 1 ] and extends for 0.75 miles (1.21 km) across the river.
