If you're still confused about the Maus research and what you need: You'll need to be able to research a rank V german vehicle in order to research the maus You won't need to own a rank V german vehicle (just rank V unlocked) From 11:00 GMT on the 30th of October until 09:00 GMT on the 2nd of November.
Well if it remained in the tech tree we wouldn’t have these problems of spikes of try-hards and noobs using it for a 2-month span. Honestly the Maus is aight and was fine where it was at 7.7 should have stayed in the tech tree. Gaijin overreacted and removed the sucker.
The Maus, in my opinion, is an excellent tank, but unfortunately not much else think the same. Nevertheless, here are some of the things I've learned while playing it: Take somewhere around 20 rounds for the main gun and 40 for the coax. I usually bring fifteen PzGr 43, five 12.8/8.8 Pzgr. TS, thirty Hl.Gr 38C, and ten smoke rounds.
The difference is missile silos don't need to move and battleships get to sit in water to displace weight. In the real world even with modern composite armor IF a tank the size of the maus were built it would take less development time to build a new missile to destroy it in a single hit than the time to develop the tank itself.
It’s a meme tank, very fun to use in downtiers, but uptiers are hell and you get bombed CONSTANTLY because you’re a Maus the size of house lol. If you’re that close to getting it I would say go for it, don’t expect it to OP af though. It can be fun but you have to position it right and get lucky sometimes.
Just for comparison: The Brits did a test/demonstration in Normandy, with a captured Panther set up in a field. They sicced two squadrons of Typhoons on it, which fired 64 rockets total. Static tank, open field, no enemy fire, perfect conditions. The Typhoons managed an amazing... three hits.
The maus is an incredibly powerful tank if you play your cards right. Yes a lot of heat does pen the maus but you still got a lot of crew in two separate compartments. And a good amount of heat rounds can’t even pen the maus if you know how to angle correctly.
100%, the tank hasn’t been restored. If the Russians were desperate for more tanks then they’d deploy the thousands of t-72s, t-64s and so on before building the entire interior of the tank, the running gear, demolishing the building it is in (that part of the museum was built around the Maus) and ship it to the front.
The folks at Gaijin said that the Maus will return every year for research just like it is now, so keep plucking away at it and eventually you will be in a position to put points into it when it becomes available. I'm quite relieved that it is coming back like this and not as part of the usual event menagerie, it's a nice gift for WT's birthday.
MAUS tank parts Help Hey I’ve just got to rebirth 7 yesterday, and I’m wanting an actually good tank, so does anyone know where the parts are for the MAUS?
