Powell at night. Powell Library is the main undergraduate library on the campus of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). [1] Formerly known as the College Library, Powell Library was constructed from 1926 to 1929 and was one of the original four buildings that comprised the UCLA campus in the early period of the university's life.
The first public library in Coweta County was a Carnegie library funded by industrialist Andrew Carnegie in 1901. In 1902, Kohrs and his wife, Augusta, built a library in Deer Lodge for $30,000, as a memorial to their son. The William K. Kohrs Memorial Library is modeled after the Carnegie Libraries. As of 2012, it is "the only dedicated public library in Powell County." [3]
