The fact that Legoshi is the sole protagonist of Beastars is the most basic example of the thesis I’m trying to push. Because it slants the balance, it’s very dificult to tell an even handed story if your only protagonist belongs to one side of the story, a side that is diametrically oposed to the other, no less.
I wonder why some around here and elsewhere have been worried or nervous about the number of episodes that Season 3 will be comprised of, because when you look at the logistics of the way the last parts of the manga are set up there's absolutely no way in hell they could possibly slam 90 something chapters into a single season like some have apparently been thinking.
Which is a nice call back to the original beast complex which was about an adult haru and legoshi which was later turned into beastars. The name of chapter 195 The last one-one-one battle of the mammals may be reference to when Haru referred to spending her last as a teenager rexmas as a duel.
I loved Beastars season 1, still really liked season 2 although I felt it was a bit of a step down, will definitely watch season 3 although I'm kinda curious where it will even go at this point, it feels like the plot is resolved after season 2 for the most part.
Beastars in my opinion, is strongest when it sticks to the slice of life character interactions. They didn't need a Big Bad like Melon, society itself is the villain Beastars needed. Melon is a symptom of their broken society, but he didn't need to be an overarching villain that took up so much of the final arc.
Tbh it’s what i was expecting to happen but i didn’t love it, however I believe I’ve seen enough and I am satisfied with the way this arc/story has ended. While it’s still up in the air if Beastars will get an actual sequel, I’ll still appreciate the story for what it is and look forward to whatever she has next.
Louis didn't stand out to me as hateable, he's an actor, taking everything he says at face value is sorta absurd, what makes him such a good choice for Beastar, is how he protects those who can't protect themselves, he pushed Zoe to practice so that he wouldn't embarrass himself, and when he tripped, he placed himself in the way of danger, when Legosi couldn't talk his way out of danger he ...
Beastars (in a way) is similar to Zootopia. It deals with the discrimination against carnivore animals. It has psychological elements and goes a bit further than Zootopia did on the topic.
Beastars is a fucking nightmare land where you have to keep your guard up at all times, because someone might actually eat your face because they were designed by nature to do so. When it comes to Beastars and racial metaphors, at most you can lean on the way Legosi navigates his world with a hardened apathy to ostracization and a desire to ...
A few years back when S1 came out everyone was talking about beastars, making videos, fanart, etc., there was a lot of hype surrounding it. Then everyone just kinda stopped talking about it, even when S2 dropped not as many people were making noise about it and now S3 is beastar’s last season and it seems like it’s fallen out of the public ...
