I was just browsing the DNR Lakefinder and found a new service they are offering. Its called Lake Water Clarity by Satelite. It is pretty intersting to see differnet lakes and the water clarity they have. All you have to do is do a search for the lake, and on the right of the page is a button tha...
I roam around on the recreational compass and look at fishy lakes I'd like to try, I ran across this one and am tempted to try it out this evening. Max depth of 27' pretty much a bowl lake with one hole in the middle. 130 acre lake, and it was noted that this survey had the largest number of crap...
The DNR stocking activity is accessible from Lakefinder. Here is the info for rainbow trout for 2016, the latest year available. It will give you an idea of the activities.
So I use the MN DNR lakefinder as a reference a lot, and it has been very helpful over the years. Next year I will by buying a WI license for the 1st time, and tried looking up a lakefinder at their DNR's website and couldn't find anything. Is there any website similar to the lakefinder for WI la...
lake elysian reminds me of scotch lake in the cleveland area. a few years back the lake was loaded with them and people would go get a limit. but now nobody ever fishes the lake. same goes for lake whita by the mankato area. all these lakes are just hatchery ponds and once in a while there will be a good bite going on. once the bite slows and comes to an end it takes a few years for it to pick ...

Afton state park on the croix. pay the money it's worth it. fish two lines, cast a sucker out on the sand bar, thats really more like a sand ''flat'', then cast another sucker on the sand bar/flat, then with 3rd and 4th lines fish with lures or fatheads on a floating jighead or lindy rig. pretty decent pike and catfish out there. and bonus smallies and of course sauger and walleyes. pretty ...
If you look on Lakefinder on the MN DNR you can find info on Mooney. Here are the species listed as caught in the nets. Pike and crappie look they have a pretty good size structure. Very few gills were caught, which is surprising.
Go to the MN DNR homepage, do a search for Lakefinder, then Vermilion, and click on the Recreation Compass. TONS of public land around there - Orr is surrounded by Kabetogama State Forest. Don't be afraid to get off the beaten path and walk the woods - the further in you go, the less "experienced" the birds will be too.
Yep, lakefinder. I don't know how good of a trout stream the junco is as I've only fished it from shore at the two island road crossing...all chubs, except 1 time my dad did catch a 12 inch brookie.
