The track is the first in Alberta to be sanctioned by NASCAR, [2] and hosts races in the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series. It hosted its first NASCAR Pinty's Series race in 2014. [3] On July 26 & 27, 2024 Edmonton International Raceway will host a newly branded NASCAR Canada Series Event, the only NASCAR Event in Alberta, Canada.
From 2013 to 2019, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series held the Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park. [2] In the past some US-based regional racing series have crossed the border on occasion, and currently the NASCAR Pinty's Series runs a dozen events a year on tracks all across Canada.
