Clinton Emil "Clint" McElroy Jr. (/ ˈ m æ k. əl ˌ r ɔɪ / MACK-əl-roy, born August 10, 1955) [1] is an American podcaster, comic book writer and former radio personality. [2] He is known for his work on the podcast The Adventure Zone, as well as for hosting several FM radio shows in West Virginia.
The Adventure Zone is a weekly comedy and adventure actual play podcast, in which the McElroy family play Dungeons & Dragons along with other role-playing games. The show is distributed by the Maximum Fun network and hosted by brothers Justin, Travis, and Griffin McElroy, and their father Clint McElroy.
Filming took place for three weeks during September 2016 in the McElroys' hometown of Huntington, West Virginia, with most of the episodes featuring scenes with their father Clint McElroy and mayor Stephen T. Williams. "(It's a) Departure" by John Roderick and the Long Winters was retained as the theme song for the television series.
