Mason Motors, founded by A. C. Mason in cooperation with William C. Durant, was a U.S. truck manufacturer based in Flint, Michigan. As a subsidiary of Durant Motors, Mason Truck built Road King Speed Trucks in the early 1920s. Mason Motors also built automobile engines in 1911, who first led Buick's engine works in Flint.
Citing declining sedan sales, General Motors announced in 1997 the Buick City plant would close; [14] the last day of vehicle assembly plant operations was June 29, 1999. [15] [16] That same year, Buick City won J. D. Power's Platinum Award for assembly plant quality. [17] As of 2016, it is the only General Motors plant to win the award.
[2] [3] Durant purchased the failing Flint Wagon Works and used the assets to set up the Little Motor Car Company and Mason. [2] The Little Motor Car Company was incorporated on October 19, 1911, by Charles Begole, William Ballenger, William H. Little, and Durant. A.B.C. Hardy (1869-1948) was appointed to manage the Little plant.
Durant co-founded a truck-making subsidiary, Mason Truck, and also acquired numerous ancillary companies to support Durant Motors.In 1927, the Durant line was shut down to retool for a brand-new, modernized car for 1928, re-emerging in 1928 with Durant, Locomobile, and Rugby lines in place, and dropping the Mason Truck and Flint automobile lines and the top-selling Star car in April 1928.

Flint Assembly is an automobile factory operated by General Motors in Flint, Michigan. It is the city's only vehicle assembly plant after the closure of Buick City. Flint Truck Assembly is also GM's oldest, still operating assembly plant in North America. As of 2022, the Flint factory currently produces full-size pickup trucks.
