Eventually F&M Bank was acquired by the Minneapolis-based Marquette banking organization and became known as Marquette Bank Illinois. The middle and later decades of the 20th century brought many changes. In 1969, the bank added drive-up service to their location at the corner of Cherry and Main.
Northstar Center occupies most of the city block bounded by South Sixth Street, Second Avenue South, South Seventh Street, and Marquette Avenue. The exception is a low-rise building on the northwest corner built as a bank and opened in 1949.
