Yadgar-e-Ghalib (English: In Memory of Ghalib), also spelled Yadgare Ghalib or Yadgar-i-Ghalib, is an 1897 biography of Urdu poet Ghalib, written by his fellow writer and disciple Altaf Hussain Hali (1837–1914). It is considered to be the first authentic work on Ghalib's life, personality, poetry and prose.

Ghalib wrote his Abr-i gauharbar (Urdu: ابر گہر بار, lit. 'The Jewel-carrying Cloud') as a Naʽat poem. [39] Ghalib also wrote a qasida of 101 verses in dedication to a Naʽat. [38] Ghalib described himself as a sinner who should be silent before Muhammad as he was not worthy of addressing him, who was praised by God. [38]

Altaf Hussain Hali was a prolific poet who left a vast amount of work behind. His major poetic works include Masnavis, Musaddas e Hali, Shikwa e Hind, and Qasida e Ghyasia. He also wrote marsias or elegies on the deaths of Ghalib, Hakim Mahmud Khan, and Sir Syed. [25] Suroor Jahanabadi was another exponent of the new movement in Urdu poetry.
