Bleach (ブリーチ, Burīchi) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Tite Kubo. Bleach follows the adventures of high school student Ichigo Kurosaki after he obtains the powers of a Soul Reaper (死神, Shinigami, literally, "Death God") from another Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki.
Old Man Zangetsu sheds a tear as he says farewell and relinquishes his hold on Ichigo's powers, allowing him to finally access his true Zanpakutō, the dual bladed True Zangetsu. Sensing both "White" and Old Man Zangetsu in the long and short blades respectively, Ichigo thanks Zangetsu and says that he is himself.
But handing over Ichigo's real Zanpakutō so he can use his full power, Zangetsu explains he later decided to help the youth after seeing his determination. Though Zangetsu fades, Ichigo still accepts him as "Zangetsu" alongside his hollow. Once Nimaiya finishes forging the true Zanpakutō, Ichigo finds it had become a new split true Zangetsu.
To begin the training, Ichigo goes into his inner world to learn the ultimate technique from Zangetsu. But dealing with Zangetsu in his younger Tensa Zangetsu state, Ichigo finds himself also facing his inner Hollow's bankai state as the two entities combine into their true form as the personification of Ichigo's full power.
He engages Ichigo in battle and activates his Vollständig, Biskiel (神の正義 （ ビスキエル ）, Bisukieru, Japanese for "God's Justice") and uses his Sklaverei ability to absorb Ayon. Receiving orders from Yhwach to keep Ichigo occupied while the Sternritter invade the Soul Society, Quilge struggles to keep up with Ichigo's movements ...
Once Zangetsu manifests, he immediately attacks Ichigo. Meanwhile, Mayuri Kurotsuchi begins experimenting on himself in order to research the manifestation of the zanpakutō . After Ichigo is seemingly defeated by Zangetsu, Ichigo transforms into his inner hollow form and strikes back, putting Zangetsu on the defensive.
