Donald Ward Preston (born September 21, 1932) is an American jazz and rock keyboardist. He is best known for being a member of the original version of Frank Zappa's band The Mothers of Invention during the late 1960s.
Born in Denver, Colorado, Preston moved to Whittier, California, at age eight.He started playing guitar and sang in the Sewart-Barber Boys Choir as its youngest member. By age 11, he was performing with a youth troupe, the Cactus Kids, singing and playing guitar at store openings, company parties, and USO clubs throughout Southern Californ
The Allmusic review by Rick Anderson awarded the album 4½ stars out of 5, stating "as outside as he gets, he never fully departs from a jazz feel -- that's partly due to the texture of the piano trio, and partly due, one suspects, to the fact that that's where his heart truly is.

Sons of Maxwell is a Canadian music duo who perform both traditional Celtic folk music and original compositions with a pop-folk sound. The duo consists of brothers Don Carroll and Dave Carroll, originally from Timmins, Ontario, residing in Halifax, Nova Scotia since 1994.
Preston was born in Hamilton, Ohio, on December 7, 1950. [1] She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Evergreen State College in 1974 and a Master of Music degree from the University of Maryland in 1981. [1] [2] At the latter institution, she emphasized in musicology where she was a pupil of Eugene Helm.
