[1] Its county seat is Rushville. [2] The county was formed in 1885, and was named for General Philip H. Sheridan.
History. A post office was established at Sheridan in 1913, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1935. [2] The town was named for Philip Sheridan, a Union general during the Civil War. [3]
