He became a Major League Baseball reserve umpire in 2007 and was promoted to the full-time MLB staff in 2012. In 1994, Texas A&M would have won the Southwest Conference title with a 6–0–1 record, but they were ruled ineligible for the conference title and postseason play due to NCAA sanctions.
