Quicken will then set up your 401K account for Web Connect. One bonus of using Web Connect is that financial institutions often allow for a lot more transactions history (1-2 years or more) to be downloaded by that method than they do via Direct Connect or Express Web Connect (often limited to less than 9 months...sometimes much less).
I was told by Prudential customer support they only support the web service not 3rd party. This is not a Quicken issue. Unfortunately those of you who are stuck with an employer who contracts with Prudential you will never get it to work with Prudential. Employees with big companies maybe able to makes changes to oust prudential/Empower.

The Prudential account ID was not recognized. Somebody discovered that you had to provide your ID and additional info in a special pattern: <6 account number>"X",<6 didigt subplan number>"X"<last 4 digits of your social> for example"123456X123456X1234.
I was able to download my transactions into Quicken from my Prudential 401k through a weird backdoor for about 2 years. (the "#####X#####X####" backdoor) When Empower took over the 401k management from Prudential a number of months ago, the backdoor worked until just last week (August 1st 2023). I called Empower and they said it is a known issue.

i have done that they are saying its a prudential empower issue. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with prudential and that was a waste of time
I have several non-symbol holdings in my Prudential 401k that get wiped out and removed from my security holdings in Quicken when the first update is run following the addition of account via download. When the account is first set up, everything is accurate down to the penny. Then with an update, 3/4 of the holdings just disappear.
