For those who have lost track, FAMOUS MONSTERS has been publishing only one new issue -- FM #291 was its latest -- per year, and a so-called FAMOUS MONSTERS ACK-IVES Annual, each devoted to reprints and a few new themed articles. And of course its Captain Company mail order business.
Years ago, I read coverage of this event in Famous Monsters magazine. Forry Ackerman was there along with several other monster luminaries, including actor Kirk Alyn and writer-director Donald F. Glut. As I recall, Forry wrote a few pointed recollections of the event not long afterward--maybe immediately, maybe a few years later.

Phil Kim's FAMOUS MONSTERS had many hits, and plenty of misses. It wasn't sure what it was or who the audience was at first, veering from 'nostalgia' to current films, to coverage of rock guitars, art shows, lots of kaiju, comics, literary roots, along with good writers, covers and top print quality.
