The Launch Monitor is the YUPITERU Atlas Golf Swing Trainer GST-5 W. I bought it a few weeks ago for $160 on Amazon. I made a video here documenting my testing. For the test I took it out onto a golf course and used my range finder to determine how far the ball actually went and compared with the readings from the Atlas.
R. Quote. Strange, I have a PRGR and find it incredibly accurate and pretty much never misses a shot unless the ball is in completely the wrong spot. When used as the same time as my Bushnell Launch Pro, it is. Sounds the same as my Yupiteru unit - that reading is in metres/s Multiply by 2.2 for a mph reading.
PRGR: SIMPLE as all get out. Put it behind your ball about 4 feet and swing away. No phone to worry about. Fast. I get nearly identical readings between the MEVO and the PRGR when talking about swing speed, ball speed and smash factor, It costs less than 1/2 the mevo. I paid $195.
I’ve been aware of the PRGR 200 dollar launch monitor for a while and was about to pull the trigger but in the UK it’s been out of stock for a while. Meanwhile another link came up for a similar looking device made by Yupiteru, with a couple of YouTube’s (“backyard golfer”) demonstrating it being used both into a net and for short ...
One nice feature: it measures club-head speed (even without a ball) and from that calculates estimated carry and total distance according to the type of club that you need to set manually. The display is good enough and numbers are clearly visible even when standing / at a distance.

I decided to switch to the PRGR (2021 model). I performed swings with the Stack loaded with 195 grams with both the SC200+ and PRGR side by side and noticed that the PRGR readings are about 3mph slower than the SC200+. I made sure to follow the recommended placements of these devices (via the Stack website).
A few minutes ago I made a couple of swings with a 7-iron, without ball and with a ball. The difference is immense: without a ball it measures approximately 60 mph. With a ball, it measures around 80 mph which is pretty much my stock speed with a 7-iron. So, with a ball, it works okay.
Getting misreads a lot. Placed the device as recommended 3.5-5ft at ground level pointing towards the target and also tried it on the box slightly raised . I get decent clubhead speed numbers with the 6 iron and Driver but way off with 8 iron and PW. I might get say 79mph 8 iron and then next one it will be 111mph.
Posted July 22, 2022. Can confirm with the latest PRGR model that club head speed with no ball contact, like super speed training is about 12 mph slower with driver on average than with a ball. It’s better than nothing but it’s not an accurate measurement if you’re tracking progress with super speed or other trainers.
