The 6000 di detector is far superior to the classic iii. it is a much more powerful and versitile detector. sold for around 699.00 the classic 3 has been discontinued and has been replaced by the white's prizm series. if the 6000 di works i would recommend using it over the classic iii. The TDI is a unique detector and is seeing use in many applications unforeseen when it first came out. The TDI has been available in several versions but all are basically the same detector as far as how they work. October 2019 Note: White's has a model called the TDI Hi-Q, which is a TDI SL with straight rod, new coil, and tan or camo paint job.

You can swing this detector all day with little effort especially in conjunction with the 6” Shooter coil. Highly recommended. Jan 1, 2009. #1. Hello Forum Members! I am about to enter into the world of the Whites MXT metal detector. I have used my Whites DFX a little over 2 years now. I am very happy with performance and will continue it's use. The fact of the matter is I want a new toy!
The DFX is far more stable, partly because it is a lower gain detector. It is a very stable platform, but lacks the sheer punch of the newer high gain models. That's not bad if you want well behaved stability, but if you are seeking cutting edge performance, not so much.
Location. Oregon Coast. Nov 28, 2020. #11. You should just run the hell out of the MXT and consider upgrading to an Eclipse DD 6"x10" coil or 10" round DD coil. MXTs run better with DD coils and especially in heavily mineralized soil, which it sounds like you have. I prefer the 6x10. S.
