1) Directly connect to your modem via ethernet. Restart your modem everytime you plug in a new device. It's a good time to replace your Ethernet cables; Cat6 preferred. If your speeds are good, concentrate on router/networking issues. If the speeds are still poor, concentrate on modem/signal issues. Do not test speeds over WiFi.

With the other speed test results you received, it does appear the home is getting fast and reliable Xfinity Internet services. I would recommend looking at other forums and reach out to the manufacturers of the game consoles to see if they have any tips and tricks to help your game consoles get a faster connection speed. So I have the 1.2gb ...
Select WiFi from the bottom of the app. Select Troubleshoot. Tap Test your whole home network. From here, the app will test both the speed to your gateway and to the devices you’re using to access xFi. Speed test. There is discrepancy when testing speeds. Using xfinity test or Oakla I get 30-35 maps consistently. Using Mlab I get 190-200 mbs which is supossibly what I am paying for. Verizon gives me the same as Mlab, and if use fast.com I get 80-90 mbps. A 10 to 15 percent is perhaps expected but 6 times lowe. Question.
The older Xfinity speed test had an option to set which IP version to use, but defaulted to IPv6. I have since switched to DSLreports speed test which allows selection of several test settings in the advanced section. To get the full 1Gbps I would use IPv4 and search for a very fast router. Most consumer routers will not achieve 1G using IPv6.
Then run an XFINITY Speed Test while directly connected to your modem/gateway with a wired connection. Note: If your modem is not compatible with your speed tier, it may be assigned a default speed tier; 30/5 with only one downstream and one upstream channel. Note: Comcast does not throttle speeds!
It's approved for wired download speeds "Up to 949 Mbps". Realize that although Comcast calls some devices "Approved" and some "Recommended", for all but a few devices those designations only mean "approved/recommended for use with their Internet service", and not necessarily "approved for Gigabit" or for the new upload speeds.
user_zmanr3. It is a personal modem. I reset the modem through the Xfinity app and did a speed test through the Xfinity app. Same results, download speed never gets over 100 Mbps. There is no internet health test in the Xfinity app unless you have an Xfinity modem. Several months ago Xfinity was in my area doing “network enhancements” and ...
