The Genie 2 does not support OTA adapters. The Gemini is functionally an "enhanced" Genie Mini with streaming capabilities comparable to a Google Chromecast with Google TV. It is one of the few streaming devices than has number buttons on its remote (this matters uniquely in its use as a Genie Mini). The Gemini's RF system (Bluetooth) is ...
recently our Genie 2 (HS17R1/500) with C61K-700 client (only have DirecTV in one room) freezes both video and audio for 1-2 seconds during playback of recorded shows. in addition the season passes keep moving around in the order they were – we have about 72 season passes in total. i reset both units by unplugging for 10 minutes however did ...
To lower it: I opened up the Genie 2. Removed the bottom plate that is simply clipped in. Remove 2 screws. Then open. To open, slide the back up a bit and it pops open. The antennas are at the top. I unplugged all of the antennas. There's 4 to unplug for 5Ghz. I went ahead and unplugged the 2 2.4ghz ones too.
For DIRECTV satellite content, the two 4K stream limit of the Genie 2 would remain; to the Genie2, the Gemini is just another Genie Mini. I have just upgraded from the DirecTV - Genie HD DVR (HR44/500) to the DirecTV Genie 2 (HS17-100). I had no trouble using the Harmony Companion Remote (PN 915-000239) with the HR44/500 but with the DirecTV Genie 2 I sync the remote to a DirecTV Genie Mini (C41W-500). I am getting a significant delay when moving through the DirecTV menus.

The only diagram I can find on the web is at SolidSignal and it’s for a Genie 2 with an international dish added and uses a multi switch. That diagram says don’t connect the Genie 2 to the red port on the splitter, but that doesn’t make sense as my understanding is it is providing the power to the dish. I tried it anyway and it didn’t work.
