From the “CUBASE Install” folder, open the “Windows Script Host 5.6” folder. Run the installation file. If prompted, click “Run.” Click “Yes” to the License Agreement. The installation will begin automatically. There is no prompt when the installation is finished. After the hour-glass disappears, the installation will be complete.

It's the Cubase mixer level input that barely registers. The mic is a Shure Beta 58A (dynamic) so not phantom powered. (Just picked up a Rode K2 but want to make sure everything is proper before hooking it up.) As I said, the card mixer shows great levels (approaching 0). The Cubase mixer recording levels are maxing around -30.

However, I am having a few issues getting it to work in Cubase. I have selected it as my main recording input via the sound and audio devices section on windows control panel but Cubase still does not recognise it. I have tried all the audio device options in Cubase but the only time a mic is registered by Cubase is when I select asio4ALL.

Open VST Connections and check the inputs tab and make sure it's showing the correct driver under "Audio Device". Make sure the device port section shows the correct inputs from your audio device. Do the same with the outputs tab. Jump over to Studio tab. There's a bluish button that says, "Disable Control Room".
