Belleville Township High School District 201 (BTHS District 201 or Belleville 201) is a school district in Illinois, headquartered in Belleville. It is within St. Clair County . The district includes the majority of Belleville, Millstadt , and Swansea , along with most of Fairview Heights .
The growth of the district, however, prompted the Board of Education to construct a new campus and divide the student body between two schools. Thus, Belleville East High School was constructed, opening in the fall of 1966. The new campus was built in a college format with many different buildings.
Prior to 1966, Belleville Township School District operated only one school, Belleville Township High School, which was the old Belleville West campus (a new campus has since been built).
