The guitar's birth was first conceived on ruled note book paper by Nielsen during one of his frequent scribble sessions. He brought the idea to his manufacturer (Hamer Guitars) to build. The original design sought by Nielsen was a circular guitar allowing him to spin the guitar from neck to neck.

The Ibanez ICJ100WZ was an Iceman-shaped signature guitar for Jay Yuenger of White Zombie, introduced in 1996.It featured a mahogany body with maple top, painted in green with white stars all over the place, a set-in maple neck with bound ebony fingerboard.
As the pickguard covered most of the top of the guitar, it limited the vibration of the top, thus limiting the sound of the guitar. The standard finish on the guitar was black, though a few models were natural or sunburst finish. The Everly Brothers Flattop was discontinued in 1972, but was reissued as the Gibson J-180 in the mid-1980s.
