Xmarks, formerly Foxmarks, is a defunct bookmark synchronization add-on for web browsers. The add-on was developed by San Francisco -based company Foxmarks (later renamed Xmarks) which was founded in 2006 by Mitch Kapor [ 3 ] [ 4 ] and was acquired by LastPass in December 2010.
Xmarks: Syncs bookmarks (folders & sub-folders) and profiles across different browsers and platforms. Includes sharing option and possibility to access bookmarks via web-based interface. On May 1, 2018, Xmarks was discontinued after being acquired by LastPass.
On December 2, 2010, it was announced that LastPass had acquired Xmarks, a web browser extension that enabled password synchronization between browsers.The acquisition meant the survival of Xmarks, which had financial troubles, and although the two services remained separate, the acquisition led to a reduced price for paid premium subscriptions combining the two services.
X Marks the Pedwalk (sometimes written as X-Marks the Pedwalk) [1] is a German band whose styles range from post-industrial dance to electronic body music. X Marks the Pedwalk’s influence in the industrial and electronic music scenes was considerable during the 1990s, as they were one of the first and most popular acts from the now defunct record label, Zoth Ommog.
