Blue Hawaii is the fourth soundtrack album by the American singer Elvis Presley, released on RCA Victor Records in mono and stereo, LPM/LSP 2426, on October 20, 1961. [6] It is the soundtrack to the 1961 film of the same name starring Presley.
The soundtrack of the American film West Side Story (1961) replaced Blue Hawaii for seven weeks in May and June and for three additional weeks in September and October. Ray Charles ' Modern Sounds in Country and Western Music replaced the aforementioned album and topped the chart for 14 consecutive weeks from June till September.
