Hawthorne Heights is an American rock band formed in Dayton, Ohio in 2001. [1] Originally called A Day in the Life, their lineup currently consists of JT Woodruff (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Matt Ridenour (bass guitar, backing vocals), Mark McMillon (lead guitar, unclean vocals), and Chris Popadak (drums, percussion).

The springs were developed by J.O. Langford beginning in 1909. Langford was a Mississippi native who had contracted malaria as a child. Searching for a cure, he heard of reputedly curative hot springs on the Rio Grande while visiting Alpine, Texas. Langford made a homestead claim, sight unseen.

[ 9 ] [ 10 ] [ 11 ] In 1997, The photographer, Richard Fenker, purchased the springs from the Judd estate, and returned it to its former public-access status. [ 6 ]
