Robert Robinson McIntosh (1943 – June 24, 2023), known as Robert "Say" McIntosh, was an American political and civil rights activist from Little Rock, Arkansas. McIntosh was born in Mississippi in 1943. [1] Growing up in a family of 11 children, the family eventually moved to Little Rock, Arkansas.
Mary Susan McIntosh was born on 13 March 1936 in Hampstead, North London, to Helena Agnes (Jenny) Britton and her husband Albert William McIntosh, a Jedburgh-born businessman and graduate of the University of Edinburgh, [2] who went on to become the first Professor of Marketing at the London Business School. McIntosh was born at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead on 30 April 1933. [1] He was educated at Haberdasher Aske's Hampstead School, the Royal Grammar School, High Wycombe, Jesus College, Oxford and Ohio State University. [2] In 1962, McIntosh married Naomi Sargant, an academic, and they were together until her death in 2006.
