The institute was established by Dr. Sam Higginbottom, an English-born Presbyterian missionary in 1910 as a Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension of Ewing Christian College, Allahabad. [ 38 ] [ 39 ] The institute was declared as a separate entity from the college in 1918. [ 40 ]
The Sunyani Technical University (STU) (formally known as Sunyani Polytechnic) is a public tertiary institution in the Bono Region of Ghana. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] It is located northeast of Asufufu. STU was established as a Technical Institute in 1967, as a non-tertiary institution, under the Ghana Education Service .
