[2] [3] [4] In the late 1950s, Samuel Finley Brown Morse donated 22 acres (8.9 ha) in the Del Monte forest for a new 100-bed hospital building. [5] In 1961, the hospital received its current name, the Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula.
