Born Again is the eleventh studio album by English rock band Black Sabbath.Released on 9 September 1983, [2] it is the only album the group recorded with lead vocalist Ian Gillan, then-formerly of Deep Purple.

The Born Again Tour was a concert tour by in support of Black Sabbath's Born Again album. Both the album and the tour were the only ones of Black Sabbath's to feature former Deep Purple frontman Ian Gillan on lead vocals.
Along with material from Born Again and older Sabbath numbers, the band regularly played Deep Purple's "Smoke on the Water" as an encore. [57] Gillan decided that he could not have a long-term role as Sabbath's singer and quit after a second North American tour.
