Monkey Majik (stylised as MONKEY MAJIK) is a Japanese pop rock band formed in 2000 in Sendai, Japan. The band consists of Canadian brothers, Maynard Plant and Blaise Plant, each acting as lead vocalists and guitarists, and two Japanese members: Tax on drums, and Dick on bass. Monkey Majik is signed to Binyl Records, a subsidiary of Avex Records.
The discography of Monkey Majik consists of fourteen studio albums, five compilation albums and numerous singles and digital downloads. The band's releases were originally self-released in Sendai , after which they were signed to independent label and management Under Horse Records, and released material through there between 2004 and 2005.

"Monkey Magic" (モンキー・マジック, Monkī Majikku) is a song by Japanese rock band Godiego, serving as their 8th single. It is internationally known as the opening theme for the 1978 television series Saiyūki , known in the west as Monkey. The song peaked at #2 on the Oricon Charts and #4 on The Best Ten.
Monkey was formed in the summer of 1995, by Curtis Meacham and Kevin Miller. In 1997 Monkey's first full-length release, ¡Changito!, was released. [2] The lineup of the band changed numerous times after this, with Meacham and Miller remaining. In 1999, they won a Bay Area Music award, or Bammy.
