Black Diamond is a city in King County, Washington, United States. The population was 4,697 at the 2020 census . [ 4 ] In 2023, with a 40.6% growth rate, [ 5 ] Black Diamond was the fastest growing small city in King County.

The Satan's Choice club led by Don Norris was forced to disband in 1962 following attacks from the rival Black Diamond Riders led by Harry Paul Barnes, who beat them in street fights and humiliated the group by stealing their patches. [7] Barnes invited Satan's Choice bikers to attend a party that was an ambush. [8]
In 1885 the Seattle and Walla Walla Railroad was extended from Black Diamond to the town, allowing most of the coal to be shipped to San Francisco. On August 24, 1894, the worst mine disaster in King County history occurred at the Oregon Improvement Company mine in Franklin. A fire caused thirty-seven miners to suffocate in the mine. [1]
The expelled Black Diamond Riders founded what journalist Jerry Langton called the "rather forlornly named" Lost Souls Motorcycle Club of Milton. [18] Instead of rejoining the Black Diamond Riders, Satan's Choice to made a better offer, leading for the Lost Souls to join Satan's Choice on 13 April 1996. [ 18 ]
