Memorial Gym, nicknamed "The Pit", is a 3,100-seat multipurpose arena in Orono, Maine. It is home to the University of Maine Black Bears men's and women's basketball teams. Maine played 10 men's and women's basketball games during 2011–12 at Memorial Gym. [1] The men’s team has held a total of eight games at Memorial Gym since 2003–04.

The Black Bears, led by third-year head coach Chris Markwood , play their home games at Memorial Gymnasium in Orono, Maine , as members of the America East Conference .
The 2024–25 Maine Black Bears Men's ice hockey season will be the 50th season of play for the program, the 48th season competing at the Division I level, and the 41st in Hockey East. The Black Bears will represent the University of Maine , play their home games at the Alfond Arena and be coached by Ben Barr in his 4th season.
