A 24-acre (10 ha) portion of the original estate, including the residence, gardens, oaks and citrus orchard, was designated as a Historic-Cultural Monument in January 1965. Those 24 acres (10 ha) were purchased by the City of Los Angeles in 1966 for $400,000. [ 5 ]

Pseudorchis is a monotypic genus of flowering plants from the orchid family, Orchidaceae.The sole species is the small white orchid (Pseudorchis albida).It is found across much of Europe and northern Asia from Spain and Iceland to Kamchatka, including France, Great Britain, Germany, Poland, Scandinavia, Ukraine and much of Russia.
It is commonly known as the white egret flower, fringed orchid or sagisō (鷺草). Pecteilis radiata grows with small tubers, from which grasslike leaves emerge. Flower spikes, which can be up to 50 cm tall, produce 2-3 white flowers that bloom in late summer. [ 2 ]
