  2. Free air for Tyre Pressure at Garage Forecourts

    forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5406087

Every Sainsbury's in my area has free air (and water), every Tesco I've been to charges - although the one near my house charges 20p, others are 50p. Can't think I've been to any others that are free, but I don't have Morrisons near me. Last time I went to Asda petrol station it was free, but I've changed route home so haven't been for years.

  3. free air at filling stations — MoneySavingExpert Forum

    forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/647677/free-air-at-filling-stations

There are about 10 000 fuel stations in the UK, so say if they each offer air free and pass on the cost to petrol of say a £1000 system this will cost a total of £10 million. In addition, you get a higher quality gauge and pump at a fuel station. Perhaps in the interests of safety having private pumps and offering free air makes sense.

  4. Air Source Heat Pumps - Noise nuisance for neighbours

    forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4357449

It seem strange how all the posts on this forum relating to Air Source heat pumps are by people getting very excited by having green energy. There are few comments on the effects on their neighbours. Any references to noise are quickly dismissed as irrelevant. We have a neighbour who has installed a large double-fan Air Source Daiken machine ...

One would have hoped that Danfoss could have put you in touch with your local/nearest agent. However failing that, I got a a list of three heat pump installers within 10 miles of where I live from just typing in this "air source heat pump engineers near me" and if I stretch the net wider then there are even more, including the company who actually installed mine who are 30 miles away.

27 September 2023 at 5:35PM. Netexporter said: ASHPs and solar panels are both good ideas. However, their seasonality is opposite, so you are unlikely to get a large proportion of your heating from solar. Spring and autumn will have the best match, with a reasonable number of hours of sunshine and a limited heating load.

OK I've read the Dimplex Edel manual and spec sheets. It's a HW cylinder with the HP on top going to air vent pipes to the outside. COMFORT will use the 1.2kW immersion heater as well as the Heat Pump. ECO uses the heat pump only. FROST/FREEZE is just that to kick HP and/or immersion in to prevent the cylinder freezing.

  8. Cost of renewal of a broken air source heat pump.

We moved into a shared ownership house last year which has a Daiken air source heat pump fitted to provide heating and hot water. The unit was fitted when the house was built 12 years ago. It seems that the previous owners of the house weren't too bothered about getting the unit serviced and the unit has died on us, although I think 12 years is ...

  9. Air Source Heat Pump - Planning permission required!

Without going in to too many details, the heat pump will be around 12 metres from a bedroom window at a neighbouring property and the particular heat pump and location means we exceed the MCS noise limit of 42.00db by 0.50db, the calculation that needs to be done comes out at 42.50db.

I've had a quote from Ecovision of £9k for a Mitsubishi Ecodan 14kW and a Mitsubishi 250L Cylinder and the marketing says: Expected annual saving compared to LPG: £600 x 20 = £12,000. Expected annual RHI payment: £853.95 x 7 = £5,977.65. Replacement cost of LPG boiler within lifespan of heat pump: £3,000. Total 20 year (lifespan of heat ...

A bit more information. We have a smart meter fitted and are currently on the EON Energy Plan which is priced as follows: 6.185 pence per kWh. 27.972 pence. 15.414 pence per kWh. This seems to be OK to me and having spent an hour or so looking at their other price plans I don't see anything much better.
