Antonio da Correggio, The Betrayal of Christ, with a soldier in pursuit of Mark the Evangelist, c. 1522. The naked fugitive (or naked runaway or naked youth) is an unidentified figure mentioned briefly in the Gospel of Mark, immediately after the arrest of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane and the fleeing of all his disciples:
Mark (alone among the evangelists) then relates that there was a young man who was a follower (Ancient Greek: τις συνηκολουθει αυτω, tis synēkolouthei autō) of Jesus, who was wearing "nothing but a linen garment"; he was seized by the crowd, [26] and he left his clothes behind and fled away naked (see also Naked fugitive).
Only in the earliest version of Jesus's capture, appearing in the Gospel of Mark 14:51–52, is there any mention of a fleeing naked young man. The arrest of Jesus and Judas' role in acting as a guide to those arresting him are subsequently referred to by Peter in Acts 1:16.
Miles Fowler suggests that the naked fleeing youth in Mark 14:51–52, the youth in the tomb of Jesus in Mark 16:5 and the youth Jesus raises from the dead in Secret Mark are the same youth; but that he also appears as the rich (and in the parallel account in Matthew 19:20, "young") man in Mark 10:17–22, whom Jesus loves and urges to give all ...
Mark points out that the Mount of Olives is across from the Temple. [112] When Jesus is arrested, a naked young man flees. [113] A young man in a robe also appears in Mark 16:5–7. Mark does not name the High Priest. [114] Witness testimony against Jesus does not agree. [115] The cock crows "twice" as predicted. [116] See also Fayyum Fragment ...

It deals with eternal life [1] [2] and the world to ...
[30] [31] [32] Notovitch's story, with a translated text of the "Life of Saint Issa", was published in French in 1894 as La vie inconnue de Jesus Christ (Unknown Life of Jesus Christ). [ 5 ] [ 32 ] According to the scrolls, Jesus abandoned Jerusalem at the age of 13 and set out towards Sindh , "intending to improve and perfect himself in the ...
The Synoptics emphasize different aspects of Jesus. In Mark, Jesus is the Son of God whose mighty works demonstrate the presence of God's Kingdom. [56] He is a tireless wonder worker, the servant of both God and man. [80] This short gospel records a few of Jesus's words or teachings. [56]
