Frank Bello (born July 9, 1965) is an American musician who plays bass for the thrash metal band Anthrax. Bello was also in Helmet from 2004 to 2005 and has been touring bassist of Norwegian black metal band Satyricon since 2024.
He was replaced by Frank Bello (Benante's nephew). [6] Tensions continued to grow between Turbin and the rest of the group as they toured throughout 1984, leading to his eventual departure in August. Anthrax is an American thrash metal band from New York City, formed in 1981 by rhythm guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker.The group is considered one of the leaders of the thrash metal scene from the 1980s and is part of the "Big Four" of the genre, along with Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer.
In early 2004 the Helmet reformation was officially announced, with recently former Anthrax bassist Frank Bello and Tempesta joining the group. [8] Bello left to return to Anthrax in early 2005, with Jeremy Chatelain taking his place for remaining tour dates. [9]
Throughout the course of 2012, Benante faced several personal issues that forced him to miss several concerts with Anthrax. Early on in the year his mother died, which also resulted in Frank Bello (Benante's mother being Bello's grandmother) taking some time off during the band's tour in Argentina. [8]
