North Forest Ninth Grade Center. North Forest High School (NFHS) is a secondary school located in Houston, Texas, United States.The school is a part of the Houston Independent School District (HISD); it was a part of the North Forest Independent School District (NFISD) until the district closed on July 1, 2013.
On July 8, 2011, the TEA announced that North Forest High School and North Forest ISD would receive an "Academically Unacceptable" rating and the district would be assigned a "Non-Accredited-Revoked" accreditation for the school year 2011-2012 and was to be closed by July 1, 2012.
The building opened in 1972 as Forest Brook High School. [37] The purpose of the building changed after the 2008 merger of Forest Brook with M. B. Smiley High School.
