It was extended along 17th Street c.1853-54, at which time Italianate features were added.

The Imperial Theatre is a Broadway theater at 249 West 45th Street (George Abbott Way) in the Theater District of Midtown Manhattan in New York City. Opened in 1923, the Imperial Theatre was designed by Herbert J. Krapp and was constructed for the Shubert brothers. It has 1,457 seats across two levels and is operated by The Shubert Organization.
In 1959, Edick hosted a television show at the Club Imperial, TV Party, which was broadcast on KTVI-2. [15] [5] In the early 1970s, Edick closed the nightclub and ran the Club Imperial as a banquet and reception hall. The Irving Place Theatre was located at the southwest corner of Irving Place and East 15th Street in the Union Square neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. Built in 1888, it served as a German language theatre, a Yiddish theatre, a burlesque house, a union meeting hall, a legitimate theatre and a movie theatre. It was demolished in 1984.
