Kevin Patrick Dobson (March 18, 1943 – September 6, 2020) was an American film and television actor, best known for his roles as Detective Bobby Crocker, the trusted protege of Lt. Theo Kojak (played by Telly Savalas) in the CBS crime drama Kojak (1973–1978), and as M. Patrick "Mack" MacKenzie in the prime time soap opera Knots Landing (1982–1993).

Webber was the son of Robert Webber, who was a merchant seaman. [2] He graduated from Oakland Technical High School.Webber enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1943 during World War II, serving in the 1st Marine Amphibious Corps and later in the 6th Marine Division as a 776-Radio Operator (Low Speed) [3] in Guam and Okinawa.
He had a recurring role on three episodes of The Mary Tyler Moore Show, as Dan Whitfield, Mary's night-school teacher & boyfriend. He also made guest appearances on such television series as The Invaders, The F.B.I., Mannix, Kojak, Nichols, The Outer Limits, McMillan and Wife, and Law & Order.
