The Government agencies in Bangladesh are state controlled organizations that act independently to carry out the policies of the Government of Bangladesh.The Government Ministries are relatively small and merely policy-making organizations, allowed to control agencies by policy decisions.
The chairman of the governing board is the prime minister and members include the governor of Bangladesh Bank, the finance minister and other high-level ministers and elected policymakers. [9] The governing board is responsible for overall policy decisions. [9] The executive board includes bureaucrats from Government of Bangladesh. [8]
The Government of Bangladesh passed an ordinance which formed the Haor Development Board on 22 February 1977. On 11 September 2000 it was reconstituted to form the Bangladesh Haor and Wetland Development Board by presidential order.
