Ajith Bandara (Sinhala: අජිත් බණ්ඩාර) is a Sri Lankan singer. [1] He is the winner of the first season of the singing reality competition Sirasa Superstar in 2006. [ 2 ]
He also sang the theme song, "Yawwane Sihina Yata Daelwune" for the competition. In 2013, Bennet became a judge on Sirasa Super Star season 5. In 2018, Bennet became a judge on the singing reality show Hiru Star on Hiru TV. He stayed on the show for the first three seasons. [8] [9] In 2020, he released a wedding song called, "Oba Magemai". [1] [2] Wickramasinghe pursued a career as an engineer, but later decided to become a musician like his parents. His career took off after his songs were played on stations owned by the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. He is one of the first three judges on Sirasa Superstar for season 1 to 3.
He studied at Prince of Wales' College, Moratuwa.His father is Karunarathne Wickramasinghe, a retired policeman, and his mother is Rohini Jayalath, a housewife. He studied G.C.E Advanced Level in Art subjects in school, and he was the stage announcer of Sirasa Superstar season 6 – Hayawana Katahada (6th voice).
