This template works as a quick way for a user to substitute a custom message from a subpage in their userspace. For example, User:Example can use {{subst:qm}}, and the result will be the same as using {{subst:User:Example/Quick message}}.
Just put {{Message}} at the top of your talk page or user page. This will create the "Please leave a new message" link as shown above. You can use subst: if you want to, but then you won't benefit from updates to this template.
