Charles H. Clements (born August 21, 1943) is a Republican member of the West Virginia Senate, [1] [2] representing the 2nd district since January 28, 2017. [3] Prior to this, Clements represented the 5th District in the West Virginia House of Delegates from 1995 to 1998.
The district is located largely within West Virginia's 1st congressional district, with a small portion extending into West Virginia's 2nd congressional district, and overlaps with the 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 33rd, 34th, 50th, and 51st districts of the West Virginia House of Delegates. [4] It borders the states of Ohio and Pennsylvania.
From 2003 to 2010, Dr. Clements served as president and CEO of the Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, and before that he was the president of Physicians for Human Rights. Dr. Clements wrote Witness to War, which was published in 1983 and became the subject of a 1985 Academy Award-winning short documentary of the same name. [1]
