The Ontario Graduate Scholarship(s) (OGS) program offers, merit based, annual scholarships [1] to eligible students who will pursue graduate studies in order to complete a master's degree, PhD or doctorate at a university in Ontario, Canada.
The Oxford-Canada Scholarship is modelled on the Rhodes Scholarship. It provides for up to two years of full tuition and associated fees, along with an annual stipend of CDN$16,000. [7] The Scholarship also provides a CAD 1000, travel grant toward the cost of transatlantic travel and a further CAD 1,000, for travel within Canada. [8]
The scholarship is tenable at 25 public universities throughout Canada; however, the lower level awards (provincial awards and finalist awards) can be used at any public Canadian university or college. Twenty-five Loran Scholars have gone on to win Rhodes Scholarships. [2]
