To capitalize on this sales growth, Fred Meyer placed fine jewelry stores in their large multi-department stores and eventually shopping malls throughout the Western United States.
Fred G. Meyer (February 21, 1886 – September 2, 1978) [3] was an American businessman who founded the Oregon-based Fred Meyer store chain, which had 63 stores in four western states at the time of his death. [3] [4] He was known for successfully introducing several innovative marketing concepts. [5]
The architect of the buildings was Philip Nathaniel Stern (1878–1960) of Fredericksburg, who was also architect for many of the buildings at what is now the University of Mary Washington. Historian and writer Jack D. Warren Jr. called Maury School "the best example of institutional Colonial Revival architecture in Fredericksburg". [4]
The officers of the Confederate States of America (C.S.A., Confederacy, South, Rebels) wore gray uniforms. The Battle of Fredericksburg, Virginia was fought both on and near the current site of the University of Mary Washington. [3] The name of the paper was changed again in 2022 to The Weekly Ringer. [4]
