A new $190 million Duval County Courthouse was a key component of the Better Jacksonville Plan, approved by voters in 2000.
The 17,000-acre center represents more than 3 percent of the land area in Duval County, most of which is zoned for development. The property was conveyed to the City of Jacksonville and converted to its current use between 1999 and 2002.
