Brookside Township is one of fifteen townships in Clinton County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2020 census, its population was 4,444 and it contained 1,570 housing units. [ 1 ] The township's name changed from Crooked Creek Township on June 1, 1874.

Monroe Township was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on April 9, 1838, from portions of South Amboy Township, based on the results of a referendum held that same day.
