The method was developed by Sofia Cavaletti, a scholar of Hebrew and of the Bible, [3] [4] and Gianna Gobbi, a Montessori teacher. [5] Cavaletti has been characterized as "arguably the most effective catechetical theorist and practitioner of her era". [6]
